Smoked Chicken Tikka

Smokey, juicy and intensely flavorful. There is nothing like a good chicken tikka. Typically chicken tikka is cooked in a tandoor but if you don’t have a tandoor or a grill, you can still get that same smokey flavor using a technique called Dhungar Method.

You can easily do it at home with a piece of charcoal, ghee and a stainless steel bowl.

Marinate the chicken overnight for best results.

Ingredients

1. 1 lb Chicken thigh (chopped into 1 inch cubes)
2. 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (full fat)
3. 2 tsp lime juice
4. 1 tsp mustard oil (optional but makes a difference)
5. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
6. 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red chili powder
7. 1/2 tsp turmeric
8. 2 tsp cumin powder
9. 2 tsp coriander powder
10. 1 tsp Garam Masala
11. Salt
12. Charcoal and ghee (to add smokiness)
