Garam Masala

Garam masala is the most common spice mix in Indian cooking. The recipe differs by household and region. This is the recipe I use in most of my dishes. I add some during the cooking process and sprinkle a little on the finished dish for that intense aromatic hit.

Makes enough for 10-15 uses

Ingredients

  1. 4 Black cardamom

  2. 10-12 Green cardamom

  3. 10-12 Cloves

  4. 1 whole blade of Mace

  5. A quarter piece of Nutmeg

  6. 2 inch stick of Cinnamon
